Kurullangala Prehistoric Cave Art Site
Kurullangala is a rocky outcrop in the Karandagolla area belonging to the Ella Divisional Secretariat. At the seemingly difficult to reach top of this rocky mountain consists a wall of cave art in a style never observed anywhere in the country. Almost perfectly proportioned line drawings of huge birds, peacocks, humans and other unidentifiable rock art which some believe to be over 5000 years old.
Alikota Ara Reservoir
Alikota Ara is a reservoir situated in Pahala-Uva in Wellawaya. Its dam is 750 meters long and 28 meters high. It is built across the Alikota Ara stream, a tributary of the Kirindi Oya near Wellawaya. The reservoir feeds the Handapanagala tank. The reservoir is part of the Uma Oya Downstream Development Project in Wellawaya which commenced in 2014. This nature reserve is a beautiful sight to see for any traveller.
Rakkiththa Kanda Temple
Rakkhiththakanda Rajamaha Viharaya is an ancient cave temple rarely visited by the average traveller. The temple lies 2 km off the picturesque Ella – Wellawaya Road in the village known as Karandagolla in the Wellawaya DS area of Monaragala District.
Diyaluma Waterfall
Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka, Diyaluma Waterfall stands as a testament to nature's raw beauty and power. At a staggering height of 220 meters (720 feet), it proudly holds the title of the second tallest waterfall in the country. Handapanagala Lake
Handapanagala lake is located in the Wellawaya Divisional Secretariat Division in the Moneragala District of the Uva Province. On the Wellawaya-Tissamaharama road (A-2) turn left at the Handapanagala junction and reach the Handapanagala lake after about 4 km. It is famous for its freshwater fishing industry. There is a ferry with about 45 boats parked. Great place to watch the sunset view.

Buduruwagala Reservoir
Located about 4 km from Wellawaya town on the Tissamaharama road in the Moneragala district of the Uva province. This beautiful environment is found when you walk for about two kilometers on the by road in front of the Buduruwagala school. From there we could reach the Buduruwagala Shrine for another kilometer and it was our destination. But at sunset we stopped for a moment without a second thought when we saw a group of villagers using boats and rafts in the middle of a beautiful lake surrounded by lush green hills.
Buduruwagala Temple
Buduruwagala is an ancient Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. The complex consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought. The statues date back to the 10th century. The gigantic Buddha statue still bears traces of its original stuccoed robe and a long streak of orange suggests it was once brightly painted. The central of the three figures to the Buddha's right is thought to be the Buddhist mythological figure-the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. Sellabawa Temple
Wellawaya Sellaba Rajamaha Viharaya ( Sellabawa Rajamaha Viharaya) is an ancient cave temple with ruins to prove its place in the ancient Buddhist heritage in Uva. The ruins of this ancient temple is spread around a large forested hill off Sellabawa.
